Approving a sample carefully helps eyewear buyers reduce avoidable changes before a production order. This checklist covers the information to confirm with an OEM, ODM, or private-label supplier.
1. Prepare a clear sample brief
Share reference images, target category, intended market, dimensions, lens requirements, colors, logo instructions, packaging expectations, and any compliance questions. A structured brief gives the supplier one reliable reference.
2. Check fit, dimensions, and finish
Review frame measurements, hinge movement, lens seating, surface finish, color consistency, and comfort. Record the approved dimensions instead of relying only on a photo.
3. Confirm branding and packaging details
Check logo position, artwork, color references, case or pouch details, labels, and carton markings. Approve artwork and physical samples together when possible.
4. Record every requested change
Use a simple revision list with an item number, current status, reference image, and approval owner. This prevents verbal changes from being lost between sampling and production.
5. Approve the production sample
Before production starts, confirm which sample is the approved reference and which points remain open. Ask for the final quote and timing to reflect the approved specification.
6. Prepare a buyer-ready QC checklist
Carry the approved brief into in-process and finished-goods checks. For a broader inspection framework, see our eyewear manufacturing inspection and QC guide.
7. Continue to the right project path
For optical frames, review the fabricant de lunettes page. For sunglasses, see the fabricant de lunettes de soleil page. If you are still preparing requirements, use the eyewear manufacturer FAQ ou send a project brief.
